This role is part of the Chief Minister’s Punjab Development Program, which is focused on improving sewerage and storm water drainage systems across the province. A specialized Program Management Unit (PMU) has been set up in Lahore to oversee the planning, design, monitoring, and execution of this massive infrastructure initiative.
For seamless IT operations and data handling, the PMU is hiring a skilled Manager (IT) who will be responsible for the entire technological ecosystem supporting the project.
In a government project of this scale, technology is key to monitoring progress, managing data, and maintaining communication between departments and field teams. The Manager (IT) will design, implement, and maintain the tech systems that ensure transparency, efficiency, and speed in project execution.
As a Manager (IT), you’ll take charge of all technology-related functions in the PMU. Your job will be both strategic and operational, requiring you to handle everything from software development to server management and IT support.
Set up and maintain the office network, servers, firewalls, and internet systems
Monitor and ensure the security and uptime of IT systems
Manage both cloud-based and on-premises data storage solutions
Oversee the development of in-house software or web portals for project tracking
Coordinate with third-party developers or vendors for application customization
Ensure all software tools are user-friendly and meet the project’s needs
Design and manage centralized databases for sewerage system records, project files, site monitoring, etc.
Set up real-time dashboards and reporting systems for internal use and public transparency
Run data analytics and generate monthly/quarterly reports
Implement security protocols to protect sensitive government and project data
Ensure data backup and disaster recovery systems are in place
Train staff on safe digital practices and cyber hygiene
Provide helpdesk support to all PMU staff
Draft and enforce IT usage policies within the PMU
Provide technical training to new staff or departments adopting new systems
You’re a great fit for this job if you have:

🎓 Education:

Engineering consultancies
Development programs
NGOs
Infrastructure or construction sectors
💡 Strong knowledge of:
Networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi setup)

Database systems (MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL)
Cybersecurity tools and best practices
IT project management (Agile, PMP knowledge is a plus)
